How long will implants last?
Nothing will last forever in dentistry. However, recent evidence shows that implants have some of the best longevity compared to other treatment options, such as a bridge or denture.
On average, implants can last for over 15 years. However, this is dependent on good maintenance.
We advise that you brush twice a day, floss daily and see a hygiene therapist every six months.
A single implant replaces a missing or lost tooth. We can use a single implant to replace two teeth in some circumstances, but this is very much case-dependent.
Single implants are a perfect fixed solution for:
- Missing tooth
- Severely broken and unrestorable tooth
- Heavily decayed tooth
- Failed root canal
- A tooth damaged from injury
