Best Dental Solutions for Crooked Teeth

One day, a patient came to see me at Chapel Dental. Her boyfriend had recently proposed to her, and she was beginning to plan her wedding. Now, this is an exciting time in anyone’s life, and for those who have planned weddings before, you may remember the stress of getting the venue, the dress (essential), the invites and the caterers.

However, getting the photographer was causing this excellent patient anxiety. Not just a little anxiety; it was making her miserable!

You see, she hated smiling. She hated her teeth so much that she had adopted, which she referred to as, this strange simper. She wants her wedding to be perfect, and who doesn’t?

She wants photographs that she can look back upon and remember the happiest day of her life, which she can proudly display on the wall and show her children and grandchildren. But she hated smiling in photographs.

The consultation

We discussed the problem and what she wanted. Her issue was that she had crooked teeth. There are many reasons for crooked teeth, including genetics, a small mouth, and loss of baby teeth a little too early when a child is born. In this consultation, we discussed the different solutions for her crooked teeth and the prices and treatment durations.

metal braces

We needed to use braces to move the teeth into the correct position

At Chapel Dental, we can use two brace systems, so the patient had the choice between…

We can use Invisalign, the most popular orthodontic system in the world, with over 11 million having had the treatment. Invisalign is discreet and comfortable and can take as little as 4 months up to 24 months of treatment time.

The beauty of this system is that you can take the aligners out to eat and brush your teeth.

Fixed braces

Commonly known as train tracks, fixed braces are metal braces. They are precise, and treatment can take 18-24 months. They are fixed to your teeth, so if you are concerned or worried you’d forget to put the aligners in, this system would be perfect.

Patient’s choice

This patient chose Invisalign as it fitted best into her lifestyle. She was an excellent patient and wore her aligners diligently. We loved every time she came in for a check-up as her smile and confidence blossomed. Her fiance was so impressed that he also booked in for Invisalign treatment as wedding photos aren’t just for the bride; the groom is equally as necessary, and he wanted to feel confident and at his best for his special day.

We were so happy to play a small part in their wedding planning. Orthodontics isn’t just for weddings, it is for the person who refuses to smile, is embarrassed to have their photograph taken.
